OUR MISSION : To encourage innovation and technical excellence amongst young engineers to achieve socially constructive technical development towards a globally competent India.

A non-profit organization, IEEE is the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology. IGIT IEEE student branch was inaugurated on 6th Feb. 2004 with around 33 members. Now the student branch of IGIT IEEE boasts of 200 members. Our Branch Counselor, Prof. S.B.Jain, is a veteran in the field of Electronics and Communications Engineering and also the first woman to pass out of the Delhi College of Engineering. Our Branch Mentor is Mr. Akash Tayal, Associate Professor in the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, whose enthusiasm has motivated our branch to move ahead at a heady pace.

Achievements of Our Student Branch

The 3rd Quarterly Meet of the Delhi Section was held at Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Delhi on the 11th of September, 2008. The Meet was started with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by our Chief Guest Prof. Mini S. Thomas, IEEE Region 10 SAC, Guest of Honor Dr. Prerna Gaur, IEEE Delhi Section SAC along with our Branch Counselor, Prof. S.B. Jain and Branch Mentor, Mr. Akash Tayal.Prof. Mini and Dr. Prerna released the Launch Issue of the IGIT IEEE SB Bi-monthly e-journal “e-Expresso” and the IGIT IEEE Website “www.igitieee.com”.

The five students who attended the R10 SC at Chennai and had won the Best Exhibition Award there and the 2 students who have been awarded the J.K. Paul Memorial Award and the Active Student Volunteer Flag were all felicitated by the dignitaries.
